Hi friends! Today I want to show you something super sweet and really fun to make – my new Typewriter Box Card.
This one has been sitting in my sketchbook for a while. I love vintage things. And typewriters always felt like tiny storytelling machines to me. They tap, they click, and somehow they carry messages full of love, or gratitude, or a little birthday cheer. So I turned that feeling into a 3D paper project. And here it is – the Typewriter Box Card.
It’s a box card, but with a twist. Shaped like a cute little typewriter with a bouquet of flowers tucked inside. I spent a lot of time making sure it looks detailed and fun. You’ll see tiny keys, a paper roll, floral shapes popping out, and five different print-and-cut messages that look like they’ve just been typed out.
When I say “detailed,” don’t worry. I always keep assembly in mind. So even if you’re new to paper crafting or just want a no-fuss afternoon project, this typewriter box card svg is for you. The layers fit nicely. The folding is easy. It comes together quickly – and it folds flat for mailing, too!
When the card is standing, it’s about 17 cm (6.7”) tall and 14 cm (5.5”) wide. When you fold it flat, it becomes 22 cm (8.7”) wide. That means it looks impressive when standing, but is still postbox friendly. You also get an envelope with it. The envelope is designed to match the size, but keep in mind—it’s only compatible with the Silhouette Cameo machine because of the dimensions.
I wanted this to be one of those cards you can keep for years. Something you might put on a desk or a shelf because it makes you smile. It’s perfect for so many occasions. There’s a little bit of nostalgia to it, but with a fresh twist. I see it as a great thank-you card. But also—it could be romantic, it could be friendly, it could be for mom.
The file comes with five sweet phrases you can print and cut:
- Thank you!
- Love you
- I love you!
- Happy Birthday!
- Happy Mother’s Day
So, you can pick the one you need or cut them all and keep them ready. I like to have a few ready on my craft table, just in case. Some days I just want to send something nice to a friend. Something more than a quick message online. And this card, it feels like a little paper hug.
This card comes in these file versions:
🔵 Silhouette Studio cutting file
🟡 SVG / DXF / EPS cutting files
- SVG for Cricut, Silhouette Studio’s Designer Edition and above, ScanNCut software, etc.
- DXF for Silhouette users with the free version of Silhouette Studio.
- EPS for Adobe Illustrator, Inkspace, Corel Draw and more.
- If you are using any of the paid upgrades to Silhouette Studio then use the SVGs.
For Cricut users: choose SVG file named “Cricut SOLID score lines” if you want to use score tool with your Cricut machine. Yes, you have to “attach” the score lines to the cut lines manually in your Cricut Design Space – this is how Cricut program works. If you don’t know how to use Attach in Design Space, please read the instructions on the Cricut website: https://help.cricut.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009380514-How-to-use-Attach-in-Design-Space
If you love paper art, this typewriter box card template is a fun one to try. It’s not just about cutting and gluing—it’s about making something beautiful and sharing it. The card svg file works with Silhouette Cameo and Portrait. Everything is layered, sized, and tested, so you don’t have to guess.
When I designed this box card, I had spring mornings in mind. A warm cup of tea. A little bunch of flowers from the garden. The soft clatter of keys. A moment to say something kind. That’s the mood I tried to capture.
Sometimes the best paper crafts are the ones that feel personal. I think this typewriter greeting card svg really brings that out. It’s got personality. The shape, the curves, the flowers—they all say something gentle and thoughtful. It’s not a loud card. It’s a soft, meaningful one.
If you’ve used my box cards before, you’ll notice the same love in the details. I always try to balance beauty and ease. I want you to feel confident making it. Whether you’re creating for a birthday, a thank-you moment, or just to surprise someone, this project is here to support that.
The card folds flat so you can mail it easily. And when your loved one opens it, it stands like a little sculpture. People often ask, “How did you make this?” That’s the magic of box cards. They look impressive, but they’re actually fun and easy to assemble.
You’ll also get an envelope that perfectly fits the folded card. Just remember—it’s Cameo-compatible only. So if you have a Portrait, I recommend using a pre-made envelope or resizing a basic one.
🌸 Paper crafting isn’t just about cutting shapes. It’s about creating moments. That’s why I love these kinds of projects. They turn paper into memory. And when someone receives something made by hand, it really means a lot.
🍂🎃 If you enjoy autumn crafts, this could be a lovely one for your seasonal projects, too. Just change the paper palette to warm tones—orange, rust, mustard—and it becomes a cozy autumn surprise. I often use this card as part of a fall gift box set. Just add a few treats, and you’re done.
I also love seeing how you personalize it. Some of you add rhinestones to the flowers. Some create rainbow typewriters. Some go with soft neutrals and gold foil. It’s so inspiring. The typewriter box card template is like a blank canvas, ready for your unique touch.
As a paper artist, I always try to give you something useful, something pretty, and something that brings joy. This new design is one of my favorites because it’s classic and playful at the same time. And it’s a reminder that even in today’s digital world, a handmade message still holds magic.
So that’s my little love letter to typewriters in paper form. I hope you’ll give it a try. Let me know how it goes! Tag me if you post your finished card—I’d love to see your versions.
Thanks for stopping by today. Go make something pretty. 🌸
