Hello everyone! It’s been a while since my last blog post. My family had to leave our home on the 24th of February. We live in Kyiv. The day before I cut out some new designs I planned to share the next day. I can’t lie it’s been a very hard month especially for kids. Our daughter Valeria turned 13 on the 24th of February. We all woke up at 5 a.m. that day hearing massive explosions. My sweet girl’s birthday has started with tears and fear not with happy jumping around the presents.

We are safe now. We have been living in Spain for two weeks. Lera’s panic attacks have gone at last but she is still a bit anxious and feel jumpy when she sees an airplane in the sky. Artem (he’s five) copes with everything much better.

I’m trying to get back to my work routine. It helps me to feel safe and grounded. So I’ve started uploading new designs to the Silhouette Design Store.

I post updates on my Instagram. I receive so much warm words! I want to thank all people who supports Ukraine, who makes it easier to live through, who writes about it, who sends kind words, who donates šŸ’™šŸ’›

Real ways you can help Ukraine as a foreigner

So my new cut files. I designed two folded shaker cards.

I wrote step by step instructions, see the link below. These cards are multilayered but super easy to assemble.

You will need to cut out the inner layer four times and adhere all parts together to make one dimensional detail. It will allow you to add the decorative stuff such as tiny beads or sequins inside the card. If you want to make this clear window “deeper” just make more inner layers. And you will need a clear acetate sheet. I use clear PVC binding covers. I’ve bought a pack of A4 sheets years ago and still use it.

You can also foam mount the lace heart to make the card even more dimensional.
